🚨FEATURE STORY

Venus Williams Serves an Ace in the AI World
Tennis icon Venus Williams has merged the worlds of interior design and artificial intelligence. Known for her prowess on the court, Williams is now making a remarkable serve in the world of AI-powered interior design with Palazzo.
Venus Williams’ Design Journey
Venus Williams, celebrated as a seven-time Grand Slam winner, has long harbored a passion for interior design—a journey that began 22 years ago with the founding of V Starr Interiors. Since then, she established EleVen in conjunction with the sports retailer Steve & Barry's back in 2007, and it soon flourished, with her also serving as one of its chief designers. She announced earlier this month that she is putting a pause on EleVen — and now we know why! She has made a surprise comeback with a new design company, Palazzo.
Palazzo officially launched this week and is available on the web, with plans to develop iOS and Android apps in the near future. Palazzo merges Williams' design expertise with generative AI, providing a unique platform that revolutionizes how we envision and create spaces. It empowers users to transform their rooms using AI-generated design ideas tailored to their style preferences.
Meet Vinci: Palazzo's AI Assistant
The game-changer is Palazzo’s AI assistant, Vinci. By allowing users to upload photos of their space, Vinci generates customized renderings based on their style inputs. Whether it's a mid-century modern ambiance or a vibrant, eclectic mix, Vinci adapts and evolves with each interaction, learning and refining its suggestions to closely match the user’s aesthetic vision.
The platform has already attracted thousands of users, with Venus Williams actively promoting it on her X (formerly Twitter) page (see post). If you're eager to learn more about the tennis star's passion for interior design and her plans with the AI tool, she has just released a Q&A answering many questions (see Q&A with Venus Williams).
A New Horizon in AI-Enhanced Design
As Palazzo evolves, it aims to incorporate shopping features and connect consumers with professional services, shaping a comprehensive design ecosystem. However, this fusion demands a delicate balance, ensuring that the warmth and personal touch of human design are not overshadowed by the algorithmic precision of AI. All in all, Williams' venture not only promises a revolution in interior design but also sets the stage for AI's role in enhancing and complementing human creativity in various fields (see Palazzo in action).
