šØFEATURE STORY

TikTokās New AI-Generated Avatars
TikTok is rolling out new generative AI tools designed to help brands and content creators expand their global reach. Building on the Symphony ad suite, these tools include customizable digital avatars and advanced language dubbing features, aimed at breaking down language barriers and adding a human touch to marketing content.
The Trust Factor in AI-Generated Content
While the technology promises to enhance global communication, creators and marketers must trust that these AI tools will be accurate and authentic. The challenge lies in ensuring the AI-generated content is convincing and free of mistranslation errors, which could lead to embarrassing or damaging situations.
Types of Digital Avatars
TikTokās Symphony Digital Avatars come in two types: stock avatars based on diverse paid actors and custom avatars tailored to resemble specific creators or brand representatives. These avatars can speak multiple languages, thanks to Symphony AI Dubbing, which automatically transcribes, translates, and dubs content into over ten languages and dialects.
Videos using these AI avatars will be marked as āAI-generatedā, maintaining transparency with viewers. Despite initial concerns, the technology appears promising, offering a natural enough look to be convincing, as demonstrated by a custom avatar based on TikTokās global head of content strategy and operations (see demo here).
Setting a New Standard in Digital Marketing
As TikTok continues to refine these tools, the potential for creators to maintain their identities while engaging global audiences grows. This could set a new standard for digital marketing, making it more inclusive and far-reaching. The industry will be watching closely to see how this technology evolves and impacts advertising strategies (see TikTokās announcement).

Google DeepMind unveils a groundbreaking AI tool that generates soundtracks for videos using both video pixels and text prompts. This innovative technology can create drama scores, realistic sound effects, and synchronized dialogue, making it easier than ever to enhance video content with perfectly matched audio. Luma AI's Latest Video Tool: Impressive Innovation or Pixar Rip-Off?

Source: Luma AI
Luma AI has launched an innovative tool called the Dream Machine, which allows users to generate high-quality video clips from simple text prompts in a matter of minutes. After its announcement last week, Luma AI shared several videos produced using the Dream Machine, including an animated story named "Monster Camp". However, the release sparked controversy when viewers noticed a character resembling Mike Wazowski from Pixarās Monsters, Inc., appearing at about 56 seconds into the video. Observers pointed out that multiple characters and the overall look seemed to draw heavily from the Pixar franchise, leading to a flurry of questions. So far, neither Luma AI nor Disney has commented publicly on the issue (see Luma AIās video here).
