Phia, the AI startup founded by Phoebe Gates and Sophia Kianni, is reimagining online shopping with a sustainability twist. Their browser extension and app help users compare prices — including second-hand items — across more than 150 resale platforms, with access to over 350 million listings. The tool not only finds the best deals but also estimates an item’s resale value, helping shoppers make smarter and greener choices. An AI sizing and fit feature is also in beta testing with early users (hear from the founders).

In a bold branding move, Grammarly is renaming itself “Superhuman” after acquiring the email client in July. Despite the corporate rebrand, the Grammarly writing and grammar tool will keep its name for now. The newly named company has also launched Superhuman Go — an AI assistant built into Grammarly’s extension that connects with apps like Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar to handle tasks and writing suggestions. Plans include a free tier, with Pro starting at $12/month and Business at $33/month (see Grammarly’s announcement).
OpenAI Creates For-Profit Entity in Major Shake-Up

OpenAI has finalized its long-awaited recapitalization, creating a new for-profit entity, OpenAI Group, under the control of the non-profit OpenAI Foundation. The Foundation will hold 26% of the for-profit, while Microsoft takes a 27% stake valued at about $135 billion, extending its IP rights to OpenAI models through 2032. The restructuring follows legal scrutiny from California and Delaware and concludes after SoftBank’s $30 billion investment was finalized (see OpenAI’s announcement).
