Oracle’s new U.S. data centers have drawn $18 billion in credit from a consortium of more than 15 banks — part of an enormous $500 billion AI infrastructure effort with OpenAI and SoftBank known as “Stargate.” Meta has also just unveiled a $600 billion infrastructure plan for the next three years, underscoring how massive these AI bets have become. Yet, demand for AI services remains uncertain, and bottlenecks in energy and construction could leave costly facilities underused.

After publicly defending the compensation decision, Elon Musk celebrated his win of a $1 trillion Tesla package with a weekend of AI-generated videos on X. One showed a woman saying, “I will always love you,” and another featured Sydney Sweeney delivering the line, “You are so cringe,” in an obviously synthetic voice. The posts sparked sharp reactions from users, with Joyce Carol Oates criticizing Musk for never sharing personal joys or cultural interests. Musk defended himself, calling Oates “a liar and someone who delights in being mean.”
ChatGPT Just Leveled Up to GPT-5.1!

OpenAI has released GPT-5.1, introducing two new models: “Instant,” designed to feel more natural and conversational, and “Thinking,” which adapts its reasoning time based on task complexity. The update also adds user-controlled tones such as Friendly or Professional, with more customization coming soon. GPT-5.1 became the new default for ChatGPT yesterday on November 12, with API access rolling out this week and older GPT-5 models entering a sunset period.
