Anthropic Revenue Tops $11.5 Billion Fueling IPO Speculation

Anthropic's reported second-quarter revenue topped $11.5 billion, giving investors a growth story big enough to push IPO speculation into the foreground. The figure represents at least a 14-fold increase from the same quarter a year earlier, and its current annualized revenue run rate reportedly exceeds $65 billion. Anthropic also raised $65 billion in Series H financing at a $965 billion post-money valuation, reportedly moving ahead of OpenAI in private-market worth. A reported $190 billion to $200 billion revenue forecast for 2028 explains why the valuation debate carries such high stakes, although Anthropic has identified no IPO filing or timetable. Public investors will eventually scrutinize customer concentration, revenue quality, losses and computing costs far more closely than private funding rounds do. For now, the company has paired spectacular operating momentum with an equally demanding promise about what comes next.

OpenAI Introduces ChatGPT for Teens With Stronger Safeguards

ChatGPT for Teens puts age-specific safety and family oversight inside a dedicated experience, giving OpenAI a clearer answer to concerns about younger users. The product combines learning support, critical-thinking tools, healthy-use features, stronger protections, and parental controls rather than treating age suitability as a simple account setting. OpenAI's teen-focused experience is designed for studying, explaining difficult concepts, brainstorming, and guided exploration while preserving the need for independent reasoning. Parents receive more influence over account settings and usage patterns, but supervision still matters because controls can't verify every answer or replace family judgment. Education guidance emphasizes fact-checking, discussing how teenagers use the chatbot, and keeping students responsible for their own thinking. The rollout also raises practical questions about age verification, privacy, sensitive conversations, and whether safeguards remain useful during ordinary chats instead of only obvious high-risk prompts (see full announcement).

Amazon Plans Drone Delivery Expansion Across Nearly 500 U.S. Cities

Amazon is expanding Prime Air drone deliveries to suburban communities around Chicago and Atlanta, with plans to reach nearly 500 U.S. cities and towns by the end of 2026. The rollout marks the company’s largest expansion yet for a program that has spent roughly a decade moving toward commercial operations. Qualifying packages weighing up to 5 pounds could arrive in as little as 30 minutes, positioning drones as a faster option for small, urgent purchases. The suburban focus gives Amazon more room for flight paths and designated drop zones than dense urban areas, while FAA clearance enables broader operations. But scaling across hundreds of communities will test more than the technology. Weather, airspace restrictions, local acceptance, aircraft maintenance, delivery infrastructure and operating costs could determine whether drone delivery becomes a practical part of Amazon’s logistics network. The expansion also puts Amazon into closer competition with Walmart and Wing, as retailers increasingly explore autonomous delivery for the last mile (read more).
