Allbirds Abandons Shoes for AI Servers, Stock Quadruples

Allbirds Inc., days from bankruptcy, announced it's abandoning shoes to become AI infrastructure provider NewBird AI. Shares exploded 373%, jumping from $3.50 to over $13. The company sold its shoe business for $39 million and secured a $50 million convertible facility. NewBird AI competes against AWS and NVIDIA with zero technical expertise, zero GPU clusters, zero customers, and zero revenue. Meta's AI Zuckerberg Clone Will Take Employee Meetings

Meta is building a photorealistic 3-D AI avatar of Mark Zuckerberg, trained on his statements, memos, tone, and body language. The project reuses Meta's Codec Avatar pipeline layered with Llama-4 dialogue. Currently limited to text chat in Workplace, the next milestone adds voice and facial rendering via Quest 3 by June. If adoption exceeds 50% of staff interactions, Meta plans a paid "Meta Executive Agents" service. The underlying stack ships as a developer API in Q3 2026. Apple's AI Glasses Plan: Four Designs, 2027 Launch

Apple has four prototype frames for display-free, camera-first AI glasses that tether to iPhone. They are reported to share a thin, sunglasses-like profile weighing like Wayfarers. One standout is their vertically-stacked oval camera lenses — one for 12-MP stills and 4K video, the other for Visual Intelligence. The target release dat is set for early-2027 at ~$499.
