The Future of Sleep Is AI-Powered

Source: Eight Sleep
AI-driven sleep company Eight Sleep has secured a fresh $100 million in funding, bringing its total raised to around $260 million. The New York-based startup, known for its sleep-fitness approach, has already sold over $500 million worth of its flagship Pod — a smart mattress cover and base system that tracks sleep and health metrics, adjusts temperature throughout the night, and even elevates the bed to reduce snoring. With more than one billion hours of sleep data collected, Eight Sleep plans to use the new funding to expand its health monitoring capabilities and accelerate international growth, including entry into China (see Eight Sleep’s announcement).
Leaked Prompts Reveal Secrets of Elon Musk’s Grok

Source: Grok via GitHub
System prompts, the hidden instructions that guide how chatbots behave, have been exposed for Grok, Elon Musk’s AI chatbot developed by xAI. Despite having a public repository of system prompts, files were leaked revealing multiple AI personas — including a “crazy conspiracist” designed to push users toward beliefs about a secret global cabal and an “unhinged comedian” with explicit and shocking dialogue guidance. The leak follows a withdrawn partnership between xAI and the U.S. government, prompted by a recent Grok scandal involving a string of controversial responses (read more).

⚡️ MIND SPARK
🧠 Could ‘AI Psychosis’ Be the Next Mental Health Concern? Microsoft’s AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman says “seemingly conscious” AI is keeping him up at night — not because it’s sentient, but because people believe it is. He warned on X that perception alone can shape reality, fueling concerns over “AI psychosis,” where users become so immersed in chatbots like ChatGPT, Grok, or Claude that they start mistaking fiction for fact (see Suleyman’s posts here and here).
⚖️ Texas AG Investigates AI Mental Health Claims: Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has launched an investigation into Meta AI Studio and Character AI, accusing them of misleading users by presenting AI chatbots as mental health tools without medical oversight. The probe comes amid concerns that children are being exposed to inappropriate interactions and may mistake AI personas for licensed professionals (see Paxton’s press release).
💰️ ChatGPT Gets a Budget-Friendly Plan in India: OpenAI has launched a new subscription tier called ChatGPT Go in India, priced at ₹399 ($4.60) per month, making it far cheaper than the $20 per month Plus Plan available in the U.S. The Go plan offers 10x higher message limits, image generations, and file uploads compared to the free tier, along with 2x longer memory (see OpenAI’s announcement).
☕ Investor Catches Founder Mid-Fall: Firecrawl has raised $14.5 million in a Series A led by Nexus Venture Partners — a deal sparked by a memorable coffee meeting where Nexus partner Abhishek Sharma literally caught CEO Caleb Peffer as he tipped backward in his chair. Firecrawl, an open-source web crawler with 350,000 developers and 50,000 GitHub stars, counts Shopify, Replit, and Zapier among its users (see Firecrawl’s announcement).
🤖 Meta Reshapes Its AI Future: Meta has officially overhauled its AI organization, forming the new Meta Superintelligence Labs with a focus on “superintelligence.” The unit is led by newly appointed Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang and will focus on advancing foundation models like the Llama series.
