AI Wins Gold at International Math Olympiad

Source: Google
AI models from OpenAI and Google DeepMind earned gold-medal scores at the 2025 International Math Olympiad, held in Queensland, Australia. The prestigious event features teams of six elite, pre-university mathematicians from each country competing to solve six exceptionally difficult problems in algebra, combinatorics, geometry, and number theory. Unlike last year, when Googleās model required human-translated input, both companies entered natural language-based systems that read and solved problems autonomously. The outcome highlights how competitive and closely matched these AI giants have become (see Googleās announcement here and OpenAIās announcement here).
Bee Joins Amazon to Power the Next Wave of AI Gadgets

Amazon has acquired Bee, a startup best known for its $50 AI-powered wearable that records conversations and transforms them into reminders and to-do lists. The device, designed like a sleek minimalist watch, also works with an Apple Watch app for seamless task management and organisation on the go. While Amazon confirmed the acquisition, it noted that the deal has not yet closed, though all Bee employees have been offered roles at the company. The move signals Amazonās growing ambitions in AI wearables, marking an expansion beyond its voice-controlled Echo devices into more personal, everyday technology (see Beeās announcement).
OpenAI Strikes $30 Billion Cloud Deal with Oracle

Source: Sam Altman (OpenAI CEO) on X
OpenAI has entered a massive cloud services agreement with Oracle, reportedly valued at around $30 billion per year, to power its Stargate AI data center project. The facility, now under construction in Abilene, Texas, will run over 2 million chips and draw 4.5 gigawatts of capacityāroughly the same output needed to power 4 million homes. OpenAI says this investment will create new jobs, accelerate Americaās reindustrialization, and help advance U.S. AI leadership. This single deal surpasses Oracleās previous cloud revenue in 2025, highlighting the unprecedented energy demands of AI (see OpenAIās announcement).
