Anthropic's Claude 3.5 Sonnet: Your PCās New Operator

Anthropicās upgraded Claude 3.5 Sonnet model now has the ability to control desktop applications, simulating keystrokes, clicks, and mouse movements to perform tasks just like a human. While still in beta, this development represents a leap towards autonomous virtual assistants that could soon handle complex back-office functions. However, its current performance can be slow and error-prone, making it more of a future promise than a present-day replacement (see Anthropicās announcement).
Apple Beta Update Paves the Way for AI-Powered Features

Apple's latest developer beta release for iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2 provides enhanced support for developers to build innovative apps, laying the groundwork for upcoming features (see Appleās announcement). Next week, Apple Intelligence is set to debut in its non-beta form, introducing AI-powered functionality, including ChatGPT integration within Siri and Writing Tools. Siri will be able to tap into OpenAIās platform when it can't immediately find an answer, making trip planning and recipe queries more intuitive.
